One Accord Christmas_edited_edited.png

One Accord is a dynamic Southern Gospel Quartet from Trinity, Alabama with a deep-rooted passion for spreading the message of hope, faith, and unity through music. Formed in the heart of the South, the group draws inspiration from the rich tradition of gospel music while bringing a fresh, vibrant sound that resonates with audiences of all ages. The name One Accord is taken from Acts 2:46, which reflects their unwavering commitment to unity and purpose in their ministry.

With harmonies that touch the soul and lyrics that speak directly to the heart, One Accord is more than just a Quartet—it’s a ministry on a mission. Each member of the group shares a profound love for God and a sincere desire to see lives transformed through the power of the Gospel in song. Their performances go beyond just entertainment; they create an atmosphere where listeners experience the presence of God and are inspired to live with faith and purpose.

The quartet’s musical style blends traditional Southern Gospel with contemporary influences, offering a sound that’s both timeless and relevant. Whether they are singing classic hymns, original compositions, or popular gospel anthems, One Accord delivers every note with passion and authenticity.

Beyond their performances, One Accord aims to spread the love of Christ and encourage believers in their walk of faith. With each song, they strive to lift spirits, encourage the brokenhearted, and share the good news of the Gospel with the world. They are united in their calling to use their voices for God’s Glory.

One Accord's love for the Gospel, their unwavering commitment to the ministry, and their genuine hearts for others make them a Quartet like no other. As they continue to share their musical gifts, they remain dedicated to following God’s lead, always singing in the Spirit, in perfect harmony with His plan.

Jamie Smith, founder and lead vocalist of One Accord Ministries, has been passionately sharing the message of Jesus Christ through Southern Gospel music since 1991. He met his wife, Anita, and considers her the most wonderful lady he has ever met.

Jamie’s musical journey began with the Shepherds of the Valley, where he sang baritone for seven years. He then served as worship leader and youth minister at a local church before rejoining the gospel scene with River City Quartet, performing baritone for three years. He later co-founded The Cross Ties for a couple of years and, alongside his cousin Shelby Horton, established One Accord. Jamie is dedicated to spreading the gospel through song, emphasizing that their ministry is all for God’s glory and to lift the name of Jesus Christ.

Jamie says, One Accord is committed to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through their music, aiming to inspire and uplift audiences with messages of hope and salvation.

Shelby Horton
Soprano

Shelby Horton, the soprano vocalist for One Accord Ministries, has been immersed in Gospel music since the age of five. She began her musical journey with her family group, the Singing Mitchells, alongside her parents, Lloyd and Louise Mitchell, and her siblings: Sharon Terry, Danny, Darriel, and Dewayne. For approximately 14 years, the family traveled to various states, harmonizing and sharing the message of Jesus Christ. Under the guidance of their father, Lloyd Mitchell, they learned about harmony, shape notes, and piano playing, attending numerous singing schools held in local churches. The legacy of the Singing Mitchells’ harmonious performances continues to resonate within their community.

Throughout her life, Shelby has remained deeply connected to Gospel music, singing and playing piano with various groups. After caring for her husband during his illness, she faced the profound loss of her partner of 42 years in 2018. That same year, her cousin Jamie Smith invited her to join One Accord Ministries as the soprano vocalist, a role she has cherished ever since. Shelby finds immense joy in singing Gospel songs that proclaim the stories of Jesus and Heaven, believing wholeheartedly that this mission is what truly matters. She often exclaims, “That's what it's all about!”

Tony Adams
Bass Vocalist

Tony Adams was raised around music and musicians from both sides of his family. As time passed, Tony got involved with playing guitar and eventually moved his attention to bass guitar where he spent much of his time playing in bands and singing back-up. After taking a long break from music, he was lead by God to pursue his calling as a musician in Gospel music. While patiently waiting for God to make a connection, it was revealed to Tony thru an advertisement of a group looking for a lead guitarist for a Southern Gospel singing Trio called The Cross Ties.

This is where he met Jamie Smith and began a journey in doing Gods' will through playing Gospel music. It was then when Tony was discovered capable of singing bass vocals and the group became a Quartet.  After a few years with them Tony was contacted and asked to join another Southern Gospel Singing group called One Accord (formed by Jamie Smith) and he became their bass vocalist!

Tony loves to worship the Lord and sing about Jesus Christ whom he considers is the Light House which led him in the right direction as he sails the sea of life!  He says, may God receive the Glory!
