Meet the Gospel Singers

One Accord is a dynamic Southern Gospel Quartet from Trinity, Alabama with a deep-rooted passion for spreading the message of hope, faith, and unity through music. Formed in the heart of the South, the group draws inspiration from the rich tradition of gospel music while bringing a fresh, vibrant sound that resonates with audiences of all ages. The name One Accord is taken from Acts 2:46, which reflects their unwavering commitment to unity and purpose in their ministry.
With harmonies that touch the soul and lyrics that speak directly to the heart, One Accord is more than just a Quartet—it’s a ministry on a mission. Each member of the group shares a profound love for God and a sincere desire to see lives transformed through the power of the Gospel in song. Their performances go beyond just entertainment; they create an atmosphere where listeners experience the presence of God and are inspired to live with faith and purpose.
The quartet’s musical style blends traditional Southern Gospel with contemporary influences, offering a sound that’s both timeless and relevant. Whether they are singing classic hymns, original compositions, or popular gospel anthems, One Accord delivers every note with passion and authenticity.
Beyond their performances, One Accord aims to spread the love of Christ and encourage believers in their walk of faith. With each song, they strive to lift spirits, encourage the brokenhearted, and share the good news of the Gospel with the world. They are united in their calling to use their voices for God’s Glory.
One Accord's love for the Gospel, their unwavering commitment to the ministry, and their genuine hearts for others make them a Quartet like no other. As they continue to share their musical gifts, they remain dedicated to following God’s lead, always singing in the Spirit, in perfect harmony with His plan.
Jamie Smith
Lead/Baritone

Jamie Smith, founder and lead vocalist of One Accord Ministries, has faithfully shared the message of Jesus Christ through Southern Gospel music since 1991. His passion for ministry is matched by his love for his wife, Anita, whom he describes as the greatest blessing God has brought into his life. Jamie’s musical journey began with the Shepherds of the Valley, where he sang baritone for seven years. He later stepped into ministry within the local church, serving as both a worship leader and youth minister. After that season, he returned to the gospel music field with the River City Quartet, singing baritone for three years. Continuing to follow God’s calling, Jamie co-founded The Cross Ties, where he spent several years sharing the gospel through song. Later, alongside his cousin Shelby Horton, he established One Accord Ministries—a group built on a clear purpose: to glorify God and lift up the name of Jesus Christ. Jamie’s heart for ministry is evident in every aspect of his work. His desire is not just to sing, but to see lives changed through the message of the gospel. Through One Accord, he remains committed to encouraging believers and reaching the lost, delivering songs that carry hope, truth, and the promise of salvation.
Shelby Horton
Alto

Singing alto, Shelby Horton has been immersed in gospel music since the age of five. She began singing with her family group, The Singing Mitchell's, alongside her parents, Lloyd and Louise Mitchell, and her siblings. For approximately 14 years, the family traveled across multiple states, sharing the message of Jesus Christ through tight harmonies and heartfelt ministry. Under the guidance of her father, Shelby developed a deep understanding of harmony, shape note singing, and piano. Those early years, filled with singing schools and church gatherings, laid a strong musical and spiritual foundation that continues to shape her ministry today. The legacy of The Singing Mitchell's still echoes through the communities they touched. Throughout her life, Shelby has remained faithful to gospel music, singing and playing piano with various groups. In 2018, after lovingly caring for her husband during his illness, she faced the heartbreaking loss of her partner of 42 years. That same year, her cousin Jamie Smith invited her to join One Accord Ministries as the soprano vocalist—a role she has embraced with both joy and purpose. Shelby finds true fulfillment in singing songs that proclaim the story of Jesus and the promise of Heaven. Her heart for ministry is evident every time she sings, and her passion is summed up in the words she often shares: “That’s what it’s all about.”
Dakota Copeland
Tenor

At just 9 years old, Dakota Copeland brings a contagious joy and energy to One Accord. He is the great-grandson of Shelby Horton, the group’s alto vocalist, and represents the fifth generation of singers in his family. With such a rich musical heritage, it’s no surprise that Dakota has been singing for as long as he can remember. Even at a young age, gospel music is already a meaningful part of his life. Dakota has a natural love for singing and a genuine heart for Jesus. His bright spirit and enthusiasm shine through every time he takes the stage, making him a special part of the group. Whether at church or on the road, he enjoys sharing his faith through music and lifting up the name of the Lord. One Accord is honored to have Dakota singing alongside them, and his presence is a powerful reminder that God is still raising up the next generation to carry the message of the gospel forward.
Tony Adams
Bass Vocalist

Tony Adams brings a rich heritage and heartfelt passion to the bass role with One Accord. Raised in a family deeply rooted in traditional shape note gospel music, Tony’s foundation was influenced by generations of singers who valued both the sound and the spirit of true worship. His uncle, James Anderton, was well known for teaching shape note gospel music, leaving a lasting impact on Tony’s musical journey. In addition to his powerful bass vocals, Tony is a talented musician, playing electric guitar, rhythm guitar, bass guitar, and even some piano. His versatility and musical ear add depth and strength to the group’s overall sound. Tony Adams and Jamie Smith first crossed paths years ago while singing together in a gospel group called Cross Ties, forming a connection that would later come full circle. Above all, Tony has a deep love for worshiping his Creator. That passion is evident every time he sings, often expressed with genuine emotion that resonates with audiences. He is a man of God who sincerely seeks the Lord’s will for his life, and his testimony is reflected not only in his music but in the way he lives.
